I know well about the problem faced by Single Philippines Lady because this problem always happens when we want to arrange group meeting in US. Besides, be careful not to route through Bangkok to US. I have one colleague stayed in Bangkok for one night before continued flying to US. At the time he arrived, he was brought to the room by the custom and checked all the luggage and his body naked for a few hours! The US custom was afraid that he bought any drugs, cocaine from Thailand. :-) If you have no problem on cold weather, visiting Hokkaido is also nice. Yes, I am still traveling for the moment. They were going to search my bags too, but as soon as my friend said I was with him, they let us right through. It was pretty ridiculous.
